The Jets had a 10 point lead vs Browns in the 1986 divisional playoff game with 4 minutes left. They ended up losing a heartbreaker in double OT. If they had won that game, then they would have played this Broncos team in the AFC championship game. They obviously seemed to match up well vs this Broncos team. Therefore the Jets might have advanced to the Super Bowl and would have played the NY Giants. So close…

Listening to this crowd, I had forgotten how many Viking fans traveled even back then. The Vikings used to have one of the 5 biggest fan bases in the country, back in the 70's. It's still probably top 14 even today, but it's dwindled and been surpassed by a decent number of teams since then (Eagles, Patriots, etc)...But this is great to watch and listen to. The MNF crew makes it even better.

I saw my first Bills game in 1949. My Dad took my brother and me to the game. I was six years old. Have been a Bills fan ever since. Bills were in the All American Conference. Game was against the 49ers. Bills wore silver and blue. 49ers wore same colors they do today - red, gold, khaki, white. Bills QB was George Ratterman, who later backed up Otto Graham with the Cleveland Browns. George is the co-announcer for this 1965 AFL Title Game. Probably was given this assignment because he had been Bills QB for several years.

Jets were the home team that day. You wouldn’t know it. lol

In my opinion, Marino is a little overrated. I do think he was a great QB, but he is often put into the same category as Montana, Brady, and Favre. Not only has he never won a Super Bowl but his playoff record is subpar. I would put him in a tier of QBs below the before mentioned top tier of greats. Still worthy of a Hall of Famer,, but more like Dan Fouts, Terry Bradshaw, and Steve Young type careers.

Although this was a crushing loss for the Patriots - and they would suffer another crushing defeat in Miami a few weeks later 30-27. The Pats would eventually get there revenge. In fact the Pats lost tough games to the Raiders Jets and Dolphins. Revenge was so sweet !!!!

My late father and his brother had Raiders season tickets during this time, trading off to take a guest to every other home game. Those were the days, I remember a Houston Oilers game in the rain when the field was so muddy you couldn't tell the difference between the teams once covered in brown mud. After the Raiders turned their back on their faithful Bay Area fans and moved to LA, I'll root for any team that plays against them, even the Cowboys and I can't stand the Cowboys...

Funny thing about the jerseys: the 49ers must have been using "air conditioned" jerseys early in the season, with just numbers, no TV numbers or sleeve stripes. Later in the season they had their normal jerseys, which probably didn't have holes in them. Last team not to use jerseys with holes was Pittsburgh, in the early 80s.

Worse thing about 1971 was playing on astro turf at Candlestick. Should never had had the natural grass replaced.

Brilliant runner. Cowboys should have paid him what he was worth. I loved Calvin Hill and he was great. Duane Thomas was next level. Brilliant and unstoppable. Jim Brown esque in style.

This was frustrating to watch when I saw it back in 1982. Steve DeBerg, of my! I remember him getting interviewed after this game. I don't remember quite much of what he said, but it was a little bit of a redemption for him beating his former team for sure.

Bart Starr didn't get enough credit for being a great quarterback. He could literally do everything that you want out of the position. Rest in peace, my brother.

The Cowboys pretty much gave this game to the Vikings.The turnovers were unbelievable.The spotted the Vikings fourteen quick points.Turnovers will kill you especially when you give them momentum like that. I remember this game they came out like Dallas did against Green Bay in the playoffs game last year.

Im from indianapolis and ive ALWAYS been a Cowboys fan sinse i was 4 yrs old,never a colts fan but i was a HUGE peyton Manning fan....my 2 all time fav QB,Roger Staubach,and Peyton Manning..
